Welcome to Holiday Road, Australia’s biggest adventure family.
We’re an Australian family with 12 children who have been travelling full time around our vast island home since 2004. No other family this big has ever travelled full time for this long in Australia, and possibly the world.
We never had the internet all those years ago but as technology has advanced it’s allowed us to get online while mobile and share our adventure with you all. Holiday Road was a name we picked when joining facebook many years ago, it was purely to stay in contact with our family and friends. That’s right HR started on facebook and it’s still our primary web based site so get on over and give us a like.
Since then we started gaining more friends to the point where we exceeded our 5000 max allowed. We were also dobbed in for having a fake name and shut down. So our “Like” page was born and we’ve since regrown out of the ashes, so to speak. We’ve also been dabbling in a bit of youtube, Instagram, Twitter and recently a web site. We’re experiencing many growing pains with these platforms but starting to build on them.
Now that’s out of the road “What is Holiday Road”?
We’re here to show anybody that if we can do it, anyone can. We’re also here to help improve the path for future travellers. You can be rest assured that anything we endorse or encourage will be both affordable and worth it. We like to tell it like it is.
What sets us aside from many travel pages is the fact we love going to places that aren’t so popular and uncovering hidden gems. To us it’s all about the road and what we find along the way, every road is a holiday and so describes our name.
We’re not saying it’s easy either, sometimes it’s extremely difficult and this is reflected in our stories as well. Travel with us and you’ll surely see the good the bad and the ugly.
In the end we’re just a family roaming the “Holiday Road”.
